An independent, nonpartisan and non-profit initiative, ReImagina Puerto Rico promotes a just and coordinated reconstruction that maximizes benefits for all Puerto Ricans. As of 2019, ReImagina is a program of Center for a New Economy (CNE). CNE is a 501 c3 non-profit established in 1998 that does not solicit nor accept government funding. We rely solely on the support of individuals, private institutions and philanthropic foundations, as to safeguard the independence of our voice.
ReImagina was established in January 2018 to provide the resources, expertise, and space needed to take stock of the island’s conditions and recommend key actions to make Puerto Rico more equitable and resilient. On June 20, 2018, ReImagina published the ReImagina Reports, which propose a set of 97 actions to address crucial elements for the adequate recovery and reconstruction of Puerto Rico. ReImagina fosters the implementation of these recommendations and aims to track and support progress with respect to the overall recovery effort and our recommendations. ReImagina is keenly focused on sectors of particular importance to Puerto Rico, namely water, energy, and housing.
